Restoring HOPE by restoring homes

Hurricane Maria was a Category 5 hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico in 2017. LYNC8 remains committed to coming alongside individuals and families that are struggling to restore their homes. Our team was able to help serve at one of these homes.

Basketball Camp in Aguada

LYNC8 partnered with Cumberlands University Women's Basketball to run a 4 day camp. Over 50 kids came out to learn drills, play basketball, and have small group daily, where the gospel and testimonies were shared with them. After seeing the turnout and impact of the camp, we were invited back next summer to run more sports camps!

While in Puerto Rico, I was able to:

• photograph ministry projects

• intentionally talk with some of the women and pray with and for them

• serve leadership by assisting in admin work

• participate in nightly devotions as we read and discussed a chapter of Ruth each night

I love that God brings healing and perspective when we are alone with Him long enough for Him to examine our hearts and speak truth to us in love. This trip was full of moments like that for not only myself, but the team I got to serve with.
